John Jukes, July 26, 1957 – July 16, 2010

It is with deep regret that we announce the sad news of the passing of John Jukes, a Director of the Metro Women’s Soccer League. John passed away at home in North Vancouver.
Memorial services are being planned for September, details once known will be posted here.
John became a Director of the Metro Women’s Soccer League in 1988. He was an integral part of the league for many years and helped to build the league from 50 teams to over 200. Before the internet, there was John. From early on John was the “go to” person for information about the league. He fielded calls and inquiries, helped numerous teams start up and develop and found teams for many new players. At one time he did just about everything for the league. John worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the league, spending endless hours doing up cards, reports, phoning teams, players and referees.
He was a tireless advocate for the referees and attended the
Vancouver Referee Association meetings for many years as a representative of the League. John was truly an unsung hero of
the women’s game!! He will be missed.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the Jukes family.
Fall 2010/11 Player Registration is now open
Please contact your team manager or coach for your team code and please read all player registration info.
Fall League will start:
Friday September 10th to December 14, all teams are expected to be able to field a team up to and including December 14.
Play will resume Friday January 7 to Sunday March 20, 2011.
Cup Finals will be held Sunday March 27, 2011. Again teams are expected to play up to March 20.
August 10th - Drop day, any team that drops after this date will not get their team registration fees back.
August 21 - Office is open 9am to 12 noon for teams to drop off cards (can be mailed or dropped off at 8 rinks before this date)
August 22 - Players must be registered online in order to be included in the team registration
August 25th - Schedule is up. Groupings should be considered final as of this date but may change if teams fold
August 28 and August 30 - September 2 - Team Appointments ( Teams will be contacted, do not request a time now)
September 7 - 9 and 11 - Individual registrations only.

Cards can be dropped off at the 8 Rinks main office in an envelope marked MWSL and your team name MUST be on it as well.

You can also mail in your registration including the info below. Please include the address you want it mailed back to or indicate that you will be picking it up. Mail will take minimum 10 days from the time it is received at the office.
Players coming in to register must have their online confirmation or there is a $5.00 charge. Also bring picture id and a 1 by 1 inch picture. No hats or sunglasses in photo for Player ID card.
